Accommodation
At Nomads, we’re all about the travellers! Nomads hostels are a revolution in beds, bars and entertainment. Located throughout Australia and New Zealand, they are specially designed for the modern-day global travellers with state-of-the-art facilities, superior comfort and friendly services. You can find Nomads in the iconic beach-side town of St Kilda, where smashed avocado on multigrain toast and an almond latte is never too far away. The beach is a two-minute walk away, along with a heap of rad beach bars, restaurants and a colony of miniature penguins!
There’s a variety of rooms on offer ranging from dorm rooms to private rooms, and every room has its very own bathroom. Good times are Nomads jam, and no better place to sink beers and make friends than our on-site bar – ‘Red Eye’. Work and Travels Jobs Program
Working abroad should be a fun, rewarding experience. But finding a job in a new country can be difficult. By doing the Work and Travel program you don’t need to worry. We’ll give you everything you need to find work in Australia.
- Pre arrival letter: The Work and Travel team will email you a welcome email 21 days prior to arrival date in Australia which includes lots of useful information including – How to get to the hostel / pre-check in information / Log in details for the Jobs program and more
- Before You Start: We’ll sort all the important things you’ll need before you start working in Australia. We’ll have your Aussie Bank Account open with your card and pin ready for when you arrive, along with your Aussie SIM card and Tax File number.
- Training Courses: Certain jobs such as bar work and construction require you to complete specific training. We’ll explain what’s needed and can book you onto all necessary training courses after your activity week.
- Work and Travel Members: You’ll get exclusive access to our Work and Travel Jobs portal, which includes access to a fully integrated labour hire job agency placing thousands of jobs exclusively available to WTC members only every year. You will also have access to the work and travel members portal which includes lots of useful information including an extensive WTC handbook we recommend reading before you travel
- Unlimited Help & Advice: Your WTC consultant will give you a comprehensive ‘Work in Oz’ presentation, as well as one on one advice and support on CV Building, Job Finding, Interview Skills and anything else you’ll need to secure a great job in Australia.
- Australia Wide Support: We have support staff in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, ready and waiting to help with whatever you may need.
- Farm Work & 2nd & 3rd Year Visas: If you do 88 days of regional or farm work in Australia, you can apply for a 2nd Working Holiday Visa. We’ll give you lots more info on this during your introduction, will help you find farm work and will also help you apply for your 2nd Year Visa.

MEET ME MELBOURNE ITINERARY
DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN MELBOURNE
Welcome to Australia. Today is the recommended arrival date. Once you land in Melbourne, access the shuttle service to take you to the beachside suburb of St Kilda. You can check in and rest up as your activity week with the group starts tomorrow!
DAY 2 – Welcome Orientation & Group Dinner
Our week kicks off at 10am when you will meet your group leader and the rest of arrival week group. We will give you a brief overview on what’s going to happen for the week ahead followed by our comprehensive info / welcome orientation session where we’ll explain everything you need to know about working and travelling around Australia. Our team are all experienced travellers and have started where you are now. We’ll support you in anything you need and answer any questions you may have.
Our city tour kicks off at midday where we will visit the most popular sights in Melbourne including the laneways and local food markets! This evening we celebrate the week to come with our welcome dinner
DAY 3 – Job Seminar & Explore St Kilda
This morning we spend time with the local work and travel team who will make sure you’ve got everything sorted for living and working in Australia, and we’ll get you registered with our WTC jobs program to connect you to our wide network of employers. This afternoon we explore more of the famous beachside hotspot – St Kilda. We will hang out at the popular St Kilda Beach and visit the famous promenade.
DAY 4 – SUP & Melbourne Bar Crawl
This morning we learn a popular Aussie local activitiy – stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) at the iconic St Kilda Beach. The SUP instructors will have you paddling effectively in a short period of time, and ensure you leave with adequate knowledge to paddle on your own for your time down under. The afternoon is free to continue exploring before the group gets back together this evening to explore Melbournes Nightlife! We will visit iconic venues and Australia’s best social scene!
DAY 5 – Botanical Gardens Picnic
After a fun night out exploring Melbournes famous nightlife, we will get together for lunch in the famous Botanical Gardens. This afternoon we have a free day to explore the Melbourne local social scene.
DAY 6 – Hot Springs & Bingo
Exhilarate your senses with a full-day visit to the award-winning coastal oasis known as the Peninsula Hot Springs, only 90 mins from Melbourne. An idyllic escape for some much needed relaxation and thermal bathing with over 50 globally-inspired bathing experiences within the one Bath House.
Once you’re completely restored, we’ll head to discover some of the Mornington Peninsula’s other iconic locations. We’ll ascend to the area’s highest point at Arthurs Seat for amazing views out over Port Phillip Bay at Murrays Lookout. Next up, we’ll head to Mt Martha Beach to admire this stunning sandy beach and its vibrant bathing boxes. Be sure to have your camera ready for these two Insta worthy spots! Following a day of exploring, come together with your group for the legendary Red Eye Bar’s infamous Bingo night.
DAY 7 – Great Ocean Road & Group farewell
Today we explore the Great Otway National Park and the artistic beachside villages of Apollo Bay and Lorne. We will stop for lunch where we can watch Aussie surfers in action at famed beaches such as Bells Beach and Torquay. And of course there will be photo opportunities at the famous Twelve Apostles. At our group farewell, we celebrate new friendships and your upcoming time in Australia over goodbye drinks and some snacks.
Day 8 – Check Out & Onward Travel
This morning your first week down under comes to an end. The itinerary is over but your adventure continues. You will have access to our team, mail holding, job guidance and more for your entire time down under.
Terms and conditions
Cancellations: The Customer may cancel the Booking without charge if notice is given to the accommodation at least 48 hours prior to 1500 hours (local time) on the Arrival Date. Where the Customer fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive (no show) at the accommodation, the entire Booking will be deemed cancelled and the pre-charged or total amount due will apply for the customers booking.
