Accommodation

At Nomads, we’re all about the travellers! Nomads hostels are a revolution in beds, bars and entertainment. Located throughout Australia and New Zealand, they are specially designed for the modern-day global travellers with state-of-the-art facilities, superior comfort and friendly services. You can find Nomads in the iconic beach-side town of St Kilda, where smashed avocado on multigrain toast and an almond latte is never too far away. The beach is a two-minute walk away, along with a heap of rad beach bars, restaurants and a colony of miniature penguins!

There’s a variety of rooms on offer ranging from dorm rooms to private rooms, and every room has its very own bathroom. Good times are Nomads jam, and no better place to sink beers and make friends than our on-site bar – ‘Red Eye’. Sweet vibes and excellent customer service is key at Nomads – expect laughs, new friends, and epic nights out!

Meet Me Melbourne group accommodation six bed dorm with ensuite bathroom. Check in is a breeze with GOKI. Check in before you arrive and download your room key to your phone! Get from booking to opening your room without any crowds or queues! Then make new friends – all through the GOKI social app

Check in time 

3pm is our standard check in time, however if you arrive early and your room is not ready, hang out by the beach and we will update you through GOKI as soon as your room is ready

Check out time

11am is our standard check out time, but if it’s 10.59 and you’re hitting the snooze button, you can extend your stay from the comfort of your bed through GOK

Work and Travels Jobs Program 

Working abroad should be a fun, rewarding experience. But finding a job in a new country can be difficult. By doing the Work and Travel program you don’t need to worry. We’ll give you everything you need to find work in Australia. 

  • Pre arrival letter: The Work and Travel team will email you a welcome email 21 days prior to arrival date in Australia which includes lots of useful information including – How to get to the hostel / pre-check in information / Log in details for the Jobs program and more 
  • Before You Start: We’ll sort all the important things you’ll need before you start working in Australia. We’ll have your Aussie Bank Account open with your card and pin ready for when you arrive, along with your Aussie SIM card and Tax File number. 
  • Training Courses: Certain jobs such as bar work and construction require you to complete specific training. We’ll explain what’s needed and can book you onto all necessary training courses after your activity week. 
  • Work and Travel Members: You’ll get exclusive access to our Work and Travel Jobs portal, which includes access to a fully integrated labour hire job agency placing thousands of jobs exclusively available to WTC members only every year. You will also have access to the work and travel members portal which includes lots of useful information including an extensive WTC handbook we recommend reading before you travel
  •  Unlimited Help & Advice: Your WTC consultant will give you a comprehensive ‘Work in Oz’ presentation, as well as one on one advice and support on CV Building, Job Finding, Interview Skills and anything else you’ll need to secure a great job in Australia.
  • Australia Wide Support: We have support staff in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, ready and waiting to help with whatever you may need.
  • Farm Work & 2nd & 3rd Year Visas: If you do 88 days of regional or farm work in Australia, you can apply for a 2nd Working Holiday Visa. We’ll give you lots more info on this during your introduction, will help you find farm work and will also help you apply for your 2nd Year Visa.

MEET ME MELBOURNE ITINERARY

DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN MELBOURNE

Welcome to Australia! Touch down in Melbourne and make your way to the beachside suburb of St Kilda, your home for the week. Check in, shake off the jet lag, and head out for a wander along the beach or grab a drink nearby. Your Aussie adventure is about to kick off.

DAY 2 – Welcome Orientation, City Walk  & Night Out

Meet your fellow travel mates and your WTC Meet Me legend as things get underway. Start with a welcome orientation session, giving you the lowdown on working and traveling in Australia.

Then head into the city to explore Melbourne properly. Wander through Degraves Street, check out the famous graffiti laneways, Chinatown and AC/DC Lane, think great coffee, street art, and hidden gems everywhere you look. In the evening, head out for a welcome dinner to celebrate your first full day at the best backpacker bar in Melbourne.

DAY 3 – Job Seminar & Explore St Kilda

This morning is all about getting set up for your working holiday. Join the WTC team for a job seminar covering everything you need to know – from how the job program works, to CV tips, interview advice, and what to expect when finding work in Australia. You’ll also get registered for your 12-month jobs program and have the chance to book one-on-one job consultations.

In the afternoon, head out to explore St  Kilda and South Melbourne Market with your group. Grab some food, wander the stalls and soak up the local vibe.

Tonight, it’s time for a proper night out. Join your guided pub crawl, hitting some of Melbourne’s best bars and clubs with drinks, games and plenty of laughs along the way.

DAY 4 – Peninsula Hot Springs Experience

After a couple of big days, it’s time to slow things down. Head out to the Peninsula Hot Springs and spend the day soaking in natural geothermal pools surrounded by bushland and coastal views.

From hilltop pools to steam rooms and everything in between, it’s the perfect chance to relax and recharge. Back in Melbourne, keep the evening easy or head out for dinner with your mates.

DAY 5 – Great Ocean Road Adventure

Up early for one of Australia’s most iconic road trips. Cruise along the Great Ocean Raod, heading straight up to the 12 Apostles before the crowds roll in.

Take in epic coastal views, explore Loch Ard Gorge, wander through rainforest, and keep an eye out for koalas chilling in the trees. It’s a big day, but one you won’t forget anytime soon.

DAY 6 – Gardens and  Bingo Night

Take it easy this morning with a visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance – a nice change of pace and a chance to see a different side of the city.

In the evening, it’s time for a classic St Kilda night – bingo, drinks, music, and a good laugh with the group.

DAY 7 – Grampians Adventure and Farewell Dinner

Finish the week with a full-day adventure out to the Grampians National Park. Expect epic views, hikes to lookout points like the Balconies, and waterfalls tucked into the bush. Keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos and emus roaming free – this is proper Aussie wildlife in the wild.

Back in Melbourne, wrap things up with a farewell dinner, sharing stories and celebrating an unreal first week with your travel mates.

Day 8 – Check Out & Onward Travel

Time to check out and continue your journey – whether that’s hitting the road or getting started with Work and Travel.

Terms and conditions

Cancellations: The Customer may cancel the Booking without charge if notice is given to the accommodation at least 48 hours prior to 1500 hours (local time) on the Arrival Date. Where the Customer fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive (no show) at the accommodation, the entire Booking will be deemed cancelled and the pre-charged or total amount due will apply for the customers booking.
