Work and Travels Jobs Program
Working abroad should be a fun, rewarding experience. But finding a job in a new country can be difficult. By doing the Work and Travel program you don’t need to worry. We’ll give you everything you need to find work in Australia.
- Pre arrival letter: The Work and Travel team will email you a welcome email 18 days prior to arrival date in New Zealand which includes lots of useful information including – How to get to the hostel / pre-check in information / Log in details for the Jobs program and more
- Before You Start: We’ll sort all the important things you’ll need before you start working in New Zealand. We’ll have your NZ Bank Account open with your card and pin ready for when you arrive, along with your NZ SIM card and IRD number.
- Training Courses: Certain jobs such as bar work and construction require you to complete specific training. We’ll explain what’s needed and can book you onto all necessary training courses after your activity week.
- Work and Travel Members: You’ll get exclusive access to our Work and Travel Jobs portal, which includes access to a fully integrated labour hire job agency placing thousands of jobs exclusively available to WTC members only every year. You will also have access to the work and travel members portal which includes lots of useful information including an extensive WTC handbook we recommend reading before you travel
- Unlimited Help & Advice: Your WTC consultant will give you a comprehensive ‘Work in NZ’ presentation, as well as one on one advice and support on CV Building, Job Finding, Interview Skills and anything else you’ll need to secure a great job in New Zealand.
- New Zealand Support: We have support staff in Auckland and Queenstown, ready and waiting to help with whatever you may need.
MEET ME AUCKLAND ITINERARY
Day 1 – Arrival into Auckland
Kia Ora and welcome to New Zealand! Today is the recommended arrival date. Once you land in Auckland, access the shuttle service to take you to your home for the next week. Check in and rest up or explore the city area. Your activity week with the group starts tomorrow!
Day 2 – Welcome To Auckland
Our week kicks off at 10am when you will meet your group leader and the rest of arrival week group. We will give you a brief overview on what’s going to happen for the week ahead followed by our comprehensive info / welcome orientation session where we’ll explain everything you need to know about working and travelling around New Zealand. Our team are all experienced travellers and have started where you are now. We’ll support you in anything you need and answer any questions you may have.
From there, it’s time to explore Auckland on our city tour! You’ll see the main hot spots, get the inside scoop on where to find the best coffee and food, where to go out & much more.
This evening we meet back again for our welcome dinner. Grab a drink and get to know your new travel mates
Day 3 – Sky Tower Visit & Work & Travel Info Session
Today you will join our group info session where we’ll explain everything you need to know about travelling around this amazing country. From Hobbiton to the adventure capital of Queenstown, we’ll tell you all about New Zealand’s must-visit destinations! If you’re here on a working holiday visa, we’ll talk to you about finding work, getting your tax number set up and other important bits like setting up your bank account.
Day 4 – Devonport & Party Night
Get ready for another full day of adventure! Starting with a short ferry ride to Devonport, we’ll spend the day checking out the famous beaches, volcanos, shops and pubs in the area. Then it’s time for a party! Experience the best of Auckland’s nightlife with a bar crawl led by your group leader and free drinks along the way
Day 5 – Bay of Islands
Time to explore the beautiful coastline of New Zealand! In the morning we depart from Auckland and start our journey to The Bay of Islands. Upon arrival, we will check in to our accommodation and spend the rest of the day exploring the town and beautiful beaches of Paihia!
Day 6 – Hole in the Rock
Today we explore the inner Bay of Islands on the most extensive historical cruise in the Bay. Enjoy a swim or a coastal walk on Urupukapuka Island during our island stop at Otehei Bay. In the afternoon we set off in search of dolphins and other marine life on our Hole in the Rock Cruise. We get to enjoy the spectacular views as we journey right to the end of the Cape Brett Peninsula, to the famous Hole in the Rock on Motukokako Island.
Day 7 – Explore Paihia & Auckland
Today we head back to Auckland for the remainder of the tour. Enjoy some free time in the morning to shop, explore or just hang out on the beach! Once we arrive back in Auckland you have the rest of the evening to explore the city at your leisure.

What Next? After a week of fun exploring the stunning far north and all that the city of Auckland has to offer, it’s time to plan your next move! Whether you are planning on exploring other parts of New Zealand, looking for work or sticking around in Auckland for a while longer; the crew are here to help! Welcome to the Nomads and WTC family
Terms and conditions
Cancellations: The Customer may cancel the Booking without charge if notice is given to the accommodation at least 48 hours prior to 1500 hours (local time) on the Arrival Date. Where the Customer fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive (no show) at the accommodation, the entire Booking will be deemed cancelled and the pre-charged or total amount due will apply for the customers booking.
