Medicare assists in covering the costs of doctor’s fees and prescriptions, so it is advisable to register your details with Medicare when you first arrive in Australia.
Important: if you hold a European Healthcare Card, you must bring it with you!
In order to enroll, you will also need:
- Your passport
- Our postal address
- Visa entitlement verification – which can be found here
- Click on: “check your own visa details with vevo”
- Choose reference type: transaction reference number (trn)
- You will need to enter your transaction reference number (trn) which can be found on your visa grant notification email, sent from your booking agent before you arrived.
- Enter your date of birth, country and passport number.
- Agree to the terms and conditions and click “submit”
- Print the next page! This is the page required by medicare
