As a Venue Support / Customer Service member, you will collaborate closely with Venue Supervisors to create a welcoming environment and ensure the venue is fully prepared and operational for bookings. Your primary focus will be on setting up for sports activities, room bookings and reception duties. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the safety and security of all users and visitors.
This role will involve:
- Customer service: Ensuring high-quality customer service standards are maintained (in person and via phone), demonstrating excellent time management and reliability, understanding cultural differences, and providing excellent service to all customers.
- Maintenance & venue support: Assisting with maintenance identification and repairs, carrying out room/sports setups based on the daily event bookings and activities, ensuring overall cleanliness and overseeing the removal and disposal of rubbish and litter from surrounding areas including car parks and sports fields
- Venue management: Maintaining a safe environment by providing a regular presence in the car park and external areas, opening and closing for the whole facility, identify hazards and record/report appropriately
- Adhoc: Supporting other teams during busy periods, attending training and job-related meeting

To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- A passion for sports, health and wellness
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role
- NCEA Level 3 in Sports and Recreation is desirable but not essential
- A current first aid certificate, fire warden and staff safety training are desirable (we can assist you to gain this)
- Knowledge of sports and sports set-ups
- The ability to undertake manual handling of sports equipment.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- A highly motivated, achievement orientated and innovative approach
- A current and valid driver’s license (desirable)
