An exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate, enthusiastic and reliable to join our ever growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working in the hospitality industry as a tour guide and are hoping that someone is YOU! The role is for primarily Fridays to Sundays and would suit someone with an outgoing personality and some tour guide experience. This could potentially be the job you hold on to throughout studies. You must be able to work weekends and on some weekdays. The successful candidate will be someone based in or around Hamilton and must be available to work throughout on 9am to 5pm Thursdays to Sundays.
Tasks and duties include:
- checking in the guests for tours
- conducting a H&S process prior to the commencement of each tour
- Representing us by presenting the best of you
- Conducting tours strictly in accordance with the Zealong Tour Operating Manual
- Being knowledgeable about and being able to communicate everything Zealong during the tour
- Conducting tea ceremonies
- Cleaning up at the end of the day
- Payments either by cash or EFTPOS
- Server duties on events/restaurants if required
Working hours are flexible, and in summer, you will likely be working 30 to 40 hours a week, and you must be able to work weekends. In your cover letter and/or your email, please state your availability based on your current schedule.
If you speak more than one language, that will be a big advantage to your application! Fluency in English is a must!
Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous, but comprehensive training will be provided.
Ideally, a candidate that lives in the Hamilton/Waikato area would be ideal for this role as the employment for this role could be available throughout the year.
