We are looking for local people to our area (Matakana/Warkworth) for planting on a Fixed Term duration of 3 weeks in May 2025. Applicants must be a NZ Resident or Citizen or have a valid work visa or working holiday visa. Any applicants without the legal right to work will not be viewed or replied to.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plant Strawberries into holes in the plastic mounds and plant new season plants using tool provided.
- Set up/move irrigation pipes and maintain ditches as required.
- General maintenance as required from time to time.
HOURS OF WORK
Hours and Days of work change depending on weather and plant supply. Work is rostered from Monday to Sunday depending on weather and you will be expected to work 5-6 days a week. Flexibility is required as days and start times change from day to day and week to week and will be communicated with you on a day-by-day basis.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to bend for long periods of time.
- Can work well with others.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, and be able to perform laborious tasks repeatedly (involves lifting, bending & kneeling)
- Good strong work ethic and ability to work quickly and methodically.
- Must have a good level of fitness.
- Be able to work outside in all conditions (wet weather gear will be provided – You are welcome to use you own).
- Be flexible as days of work are set around weather and plant availability. The days and hours of work will be communicated to the applicant on a day-by-day basis (generally the day before).
- Training will be provided to any successful applicants.
