THE COMPANY
We are a boutique thoroughbred pre-training and spelling business located in Tuerong, on the Mornington Peninsula. We offer a range of pre-training, starting, spelling and rehabilitation services to a small handful of trainers, who prefer a highly personalised level of care for their thoroughbreds.
Located on one of Victoria’s premier thoroughbred properties, we have a state of the art facility that spans across 70 acres of tree lined and picturesque land, coupled with a 1400m grass track, 1750m sand track, sand arena, 100 stables, a horse pool and 2 treadmills.
Our boutique business has experienced significant growth and in light of that, we now require additional staff to enable us to continue providing the 5-star care our clients expect.
THE ROLE
With approx. 65 horses, the primary purpose of your role is to assist with the day-to-day care, exercise and welfare of the horses in our care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Handling horses of various ages
- Feeding, grooming, rugging and mucking boxes
- Tacking up / down of horses after exercise
- Assisting farriers and vets, maintain animal health records and treating minor injuries
- General upkeep and maintenance of the property general farm cleaning and tidying

We are able to offer a range of flexibility and roster options to suit your lifestyle, including:
- Morning shift 6:00am to 12:00pm
- Afternoon shift 2:00pm to 4:00pm
- Up to 38 hours each week
- Full time, Part time or Casual
We are also able to provide onsite accommodation for those seeking full time hours.
You will also enjoy working alongside a great group of people, we value teamwork, sharing our horse knowledge and genuinely enjoy working together to ensure our horses receive 5-star care.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Whilst riding experience is not required, we do require candidates with horse handling knowledge and experience, ideally not less than 2 years.
Those with a basic knowledge of horse health care, common diseases and first aid including bandaging, wound care, administering medications will be highly regarded.
Additionally, you must also be:
- Physically fit
- Able to follow and carry out instructions
- Self-motivated, observant and proactive
