The key responsibilities of a shop assistant:

- Assisting customers in finding products and providing information about features or prices.
- Offering recommendations and advice based on customer needs or preferences.

Processing Sales Transactions:
- Operating the cash register or POS (point of sale) system to process payments.
- Handling various payment methods such as cash, card, or digital payments.
- Issuing receipts and providing change when necessary.

Maintaining Store Organization:
- Ensuring the store is tidy, clean, and well-organized for customers.
- Restocking shelves, displays, or promotional areas when products run low.
- Checking product displays to ensure they are appealing and well-stocked.

Stock Management:
- Monitoring inventory levels and reporting when stock needs to be reordered.
- Receiving deliveries and organizing new stock in the store.
- Checking for damaged or expired goods and removing them from shelves.

Handling Customer Complaints and Returns:
- Addressing customer concerns or complaints in a professional and helpful manner.
- Processing returns or exchanges according to store policies.

Product Knowledge:
- Keeping up-to-date with the store’s products, sales, and promotions.
