Sandwich hand – Town Hall Sydney

Sandwich Hand position:

– Must be fast and clean

– reliable

– Available Monday to Friday (is a must)

– Immediately start

– Fixed roster

– Must have experience as sandwich hand

– Corporate catering

– High Tea set up

General roles of a sandwich hand:

  • Food Preparation:

    • Prepare sandwich ingredients (slicing meats, chopping vegetables, grating cheese, etc.)

    • Assemble sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and toasties according to orders or display standards

    • Make simple sides like salads or snacks if required

  • Maintaining Food Hygiene:

    • Follow safe food handling and hygiene procedures

    • Keep work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized

    • Store food items correctly (labeling and rotating stock)

  • Customer Service (if front-facing):

    • Take customer orders politely and efficiently

    • Answer questions about ingredients or special requests

    • Pack and present food neatly for takeaway or dine-in

  • Stocking & Replenishing:

    • Restock sandwich stations throughout the day

    • Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when supplies are low

    • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries

  • General Kitchen Support:

    • Assist cooks or chefs during busy times

    • Clean up prep stations and equipment after shifts

    • Dispose of waste appropriately
