We are a family run business and looking for a superstar receptionist to be the welcoming face of our holiday park, assisting our domestic and international guests in creating memorable experiences.
Located just off State Highway 1, we are the closest holiday park to Christchurch International Airport and major campervan and car rental depots. Our park offers a range of accommodations, including powered and non-powered tent sites, cabins and motels. We also offer additional facilities including a large playground, jumping pillow, heated outdoor swimming pool and car storage facilities.
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Office Reception team.
- Office Hours:
- 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Requirements: A valid New Zealand driver’s license and legal eligibility to work in New Zealand are mandatory.
- Weekend availability is essential, with shifts based on a rotating roster.
This role requires someone to be comfortable receiving instructions from management while also being capable of working independently.
Typical Day:
- Start the day by opening the office at 8:30 AM, checking emails, and organizing housekeeping tasks.
- Manage laundry in our on-site commercial facility, including washing, drying, folding, and preparing for the cleaning team.
- Handle guest check-outs in the morning and check-ins from 2 PM onwards.
- Tackle a busy afternoon schedule with organisation and efficiency.
- Answering phone calls and emails to a high standard
What We’re Looking For:
We need someone who embodies the following qualities:
- Computer Proficiency: Confident navigating booking systems, emails, and general office software.
- Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor with face to face interactions, appropriate and proficient phone manner and professional correspondence on email.
- Independent Worker: Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks without constant supervision. Excellent time management abilities and attention to detail.
- Quick Learner: Able to adapt and pick up new processes efficiently.
- Customer Focused: A passion for customer service. Tolerant, understanding, and empathetic in addressing customer needs.
- Personality: Warm, approachable, and enthusiastic about engaging with guests from all walks of life and guests whose first language may not be English.
- Helpful Attitude: Willing to go the extra mile to assist guests and teammates.
- Physically Mobile and Strong: Comfortable with daily tasks such as managing laundry, folding and pressing sheets, and maintaining a tidy office environment.
- Reservation Experience: Preferred but not essential – training can be provided.
- Team Player: A strong work ethic and a “can do, get stuck in” attitude.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Welcoming guests, processing check-ins and check-outs, and addressing guest inquiries with professionalism and a smile.
- Using our booking system to manage reservations and handle payments accurately.
- Ensuring the office is clean, organised, and inviting for staff and guests.
- Managing daily laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding and sorting.
- Offering recommendations and support to guests to enhance their stay.
- Promote the holiday park to boost accommodation sales.
