Receptionist / Allrounder – Lake Tekapo

We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our lovely team.

The main position is at reception, however you will also be helping our Cafe and Housekeeping team if needed.

If you would like to live and work in one of the most desirable summer and winter locations in New Zealand, then this is the job for you.

Minimum of 30 hours a week guaranteed

Must be able to join at least for 4 months or more

Experience at reception is a must.

Hourly rate negotiable upon experience + 8% holiday pay

About the role:

Welcoming guests from all over the world to our beautiful town.

This role works on a rotating roster with morning shifts starting as early as 7am and late shifts finishing around 10:30pm.

This is a varied role that includes assisting with front office operations, as well as helping out at our Jack Rabbit Cafe and Housekeeping team if required.

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Expectations

  • Hotel experience in a reception role is preferred
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • The ability to work unsupervised both early and late shifts
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivation and attention to detail, along with a genuine passion for customer service and hospitality
  • Check-in and out our guests using our PMS
  • Take payments and follow cashup procedures
  • Taking reservations
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries
  • Assist guests with luggage if needed
  • Perform other clerical tasks such as word processing, data entry, filing, mail dispatch and photocopying
  • Other general hotel operation tasks
  • Adress guest complaints patiently. Apologize for any inconveniences and find appropriate solutions.
  • Well presented
  • Good time keeping
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
