ABOUT OUR FAMILY
We are a family of 4 – Aimee (34, Kiwi), Cormac (41, Irish), Caolan (3 years) and Tadhg (6 months). We have recently taken over our own Holiday Park in Ahipara and will be working together as a family onsite. Caolan is a very active child who loves the outdoors, diggers and machinery, reading and helping out with jobs. Tadhg has been an easy baby so far, he has a nice temperament and is cuddly and full of smiles.
WHAT OUR FAMIlY IS LOOKING FOR
Someone who has patience in handling children, reliability and trustworthiness. As our business can be quite busy and demanding, flexibility to adapt to changing schedules is important. Strong communication skills for clear interactions, and organisational abilities to manage routines are also crucial. We would also like someone with empathy and compassion toward our children’s emotions and relevant experience with children of our families’ age.
ABOUT OUR HOME
We live at the holiday park and have a separate 1 bedroom unit available for the au pair if required. This unit has its own deck area, lounge, studio kitchen and bathroom. Our own 3-bedroom home is located close by and is connected to the holiday park reception.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We seek a nurturing and responsible au pair to provide high-quality care for our children. The ideal candidate will create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment in which our children can thrive and develop. Responsibilities include daily childcare duties, engaging children in age-appropriate activities, preparing meals and snacks, and maintaining children’s routines. The au pair should also prioritise safety, communicate effectively with parents, and be adaptable to changing schedules and needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive childcare in a safe and nurturing manner.
Engage children in educational and recreational activities.
Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines.
Maintain children’s daily routines and schedules.
Monitor children’s health and well-being.
Communicate regularly with parents about children’s activities, behaviours, and development.
Perform light housekeeping tasks related to childcare.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider.
First aid and CPR certification preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, flexibility, and a love for working with children.
HOUSEHOLD DUTIES
Preparing and cooking food for the children
Prepping dinners for the parents
Tidying the house of the children’s mess
Managing the children’s laundry
Completing the weekly online food order
Packing and unpacking the dishwasher and maintaining a tidy house.
