We’re looking for reliable and hardworking orchard workers to join our kiwifruit and apple teams in Lower Moutere, Motueka. This role is hands-on and essential to ensuring our orchards produce high-quality fruit. It’s ideal for people who enjoy working outdoors, don’t mind a physical work, and want to be part of a friendly, collaborative team. Reasonable fitness is required, as the roles involve working on your feet throughout the day and regularly climbing ladders during apple thinning.
What you’ll be doing:
Kiwifruit worker
- Dates: Approx start 13th October until 26th November 2025
- Position description: bud thinning, tip crushing, string training and general orchard work.
- Rate: $23.50 + 8% holiday pay ($25.38)
- Working hours: Weather dependable. Monday till Friday (7.30am – 4pm with increasing to 9-hr days later in the season). You must be available to work weekends (mainly Saturday).
Then you can move to the following position:
Apple thinner
- Dates: Approx start 26th November until 24th December (some positions available in new year)
- Position description: Removing excess fruitlets and poor-quality fruit from the trees, using a 2.4m ladder
- Rate: $23.50 + 8% holiday pay ($25.38) or/and contract (piece) rates
- Working hours: Weather dependable. Monday till Friday (6.30am – 5pm; 10-hr days). You must be available to work weekends (mainly Saturday).
