Kitchen Steward

THE ROLE:

  • Wash and clean utensils and dishes that are returned to the kitchen
  • Handle, sort, store and distribute food items when requested.
  • Dispose of waste.
  • Clean food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools and areas, maintaining cleaning rosters/ checklists

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working in a similar role (advantageous)
  • Able to work well under pressure and stay calm in demanding situations (essential)
  • Able to work autonomously and as a part of a team
  • Willingness to use initiative and have attention to detail
  • Flexibility with roster – be able to work a variety of shifts, including the possibility of split shifts and weekend work
