We’re looking for a hands-on, dog-loving individual to take on the role of In-House Dog Daycare Manager at our dog care farm in North Auckland.

This is a live-in position that combines leadership, dog handling, and facility oversight. You’ll manage daily operations, support staff, and work directly with our dogs in a clean, semi-modern home environment shared with other dog handlers.

Position Details:

• 12 hours of work per week in exchange for accommodation and utilities

• Plus 15 hours of paid work per week at $24 per hour

• Total 27 hours per week

• Extra hours may be available depending on workload and your capabilities

• Minimum stay: 3 months

Your Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily daycare routines and dog playgroups

• Coordinate check-ins/outs and provide updates to owners

• Communicate effectively with management, staff, and clients

• Oversee and participate in daily cleaning of the house and dog areas

• Ensure the shared home remains clean and tidy — guide and support others to maintain it

• Perform basic gardening (watering, tidying outdoor areas, light upkeep)

• Ensure smooth, safe, and positive dog interactions

• Support team members and lead by example in daily operations

• Provide excellent customer care and represent the facility positively

What We’re Looking For:

• Confident around dogs of all sizes and temperaments

• Calm, proactive, and reliable with great communication skills

• Able to manage small teams and maintain a clean, organised environment

• Basic understanding of home cleaning and simple gardening tasks

• Previous experience in dog care, vet clinics, or pet boarding is ideal

• Must hold a valid NZ work visa or permit

• Comfortable living in a shared home with other staff and dogs

• Having a car is an advantage
