Front Desk Receptionist

We are looking for an experienced Resort/Hotel Receptionist. If you have a partner who is traveling with you who also has hospitality experience even better.

Hours would be a minimum of 30 hours per week depending on our occupancy. However, there is always work in Housekeeping/Food & Beverage/ Winery/ Cafe to get additional hours.

We offer Staff Accommodation at $150.00 per week per room.

You will need your own transportation as we are very remote in the far North of New Zealand but surrounded by beautiful beaches..

Purpose:

To assist the front desk team in ensuring that the best customer service is given to all guests and visitors to the resort. Includes checking guests in and out who are staying at the resort, selling of the services and facilities of the resort including taking restaurant and winery table bookings, and promoting our golf facilities. Assistance with the Golf Pro Shop will be required and flexible days and time will be required to work.

Reporting to: Front Office Manager

Department: Front Office

Responsibilities:

Friendly & efficient check-ins (including information for new arrivals) and checkouts of hotel rooms.

Friendly, professional and accurate with information and billing during arrival and departure.
Achieves an accurate and logical work sequence.
Follows procedures for cash and security on front desk.
Taking reservations and inputting into PMS system.
Ensuring reservations have correct tariffs and up-sells.
Actively upselling restaurant meals, golf bookings and other activities by offering to make reservations.
Ensure messages are accurate and passed on promptly.
Provide business centre services as required, with correct charges posted.
Dealing with golfers arriving to play, collection & return of carts for golfers.
Dealing with Membership of Golf Club and actively encouraging new members
General tidiness of Pro-Shop/Reception area (dusting, vacuuming/tidying/watering plants).
Re-stocking of Pro Shop as required.
Stocktaking of all Pro Shop merchandise monthly.
Cash reconciliation each mornings for Restaurant, Bar and Winery Café.
Responsible for making sure floats in all areas of Resort have ample coins/notes- weekly task.
General admin duties (eg.typing of menus/upkeep of room compendiums etc.)

Customer Service

· Take initiative to ensure positive and productive interaction with our customers (internal and external).

Health and Safety Management and Human Resources

· Comply with the Health & Safety policy statement, H&S policies and procedures and the relevant H&S Business Plan

· Work in a safe manner, providing a safe workplace to all employees

· Use protective/safety equipment wherever provided and required

· Accurate and timely reporting of all hazards, incidents and work related injuries to your manager

· Participate in any rehabilitation programmes as required

· Participate in Health & Safety committee meetings as required

· Undertake workplace audits in accordance with H&S plan

· Ensure safety of guests when passing hot items to them.

· Ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.

· Follow the expectations and guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.

· Assist in other outlets as and when required

· Perform any other reasonable duty as requested by your Supervisor or Hotel Management.

· Ensure personal grooming is to Hotel standards.
