Hotel Receptionist (Casual) – Brisbane

As a Casual Hotel Receptionist (approximately 30 hours/week), you will play a crucial role in ensuring each guest feels welcome and cared for. About The Hotel

Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, our Hotel is a prime location for both business and leisure travellers. With 102 stylish rooms and close proximity to Brisbane’s most popular attractions, you will be part of a team that delivers top-tier hospitality to every guest. Your role as a Hotel Receptionist will directly contribute to our hotel’s success and reputation.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the first point of contact for our guests, your role will be dynamic, engaging, and key to creating a welcoming environment. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Warm and Friendly Check-Ins and Check-Outs – Ensure smooth arrivals and departures, making guests feel at home from the moment they step in.
  • Guest Support and Inquiry Handling – Be a source of knowledge, providing guests with details about the hotel’s services and surrounding attractions.
  • Reservation Management – Assist with bookings, cancellations, and room allocations, making sure everything runs seamlessly.
  • Payment Processing and Record Keeping – Handle guest payments and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Collaborate with the Team – Work closely with hotel staff to ensure that all guest needs are met with professionalism and care.
  • Maintain a Welcoming Reception Area – Ensure the reception area is always clean, organized, and inviting for every guest who walks through the door.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re after someone who brings passion and dedication to the role. Here’s the ideal candidate:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality or as a receptionist.
  • Excellent Communication Skills – You should be comfortable engaging with guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Tech-Savvy – Comfortable using computer systems and booking software (training provided).
  • A Calm and Confident Multitasker – You thrive under pressure and can manage multiple tasks with ease.
  • Attention to Detail – You spot the little things that make a big difference in a guest’s experience.
  • Flexible Availability – Available to work on a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings. Expect around 30 hours per week.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a national police check.
