We value teamwork, innovation, and a deep respect for nature and our hardworking bees. We’re looking for a motivated, experienced Honey Extraction Supervisor to oversee and optimise our honey extraction process this coming season – Mid December 2024 to Mid March 2025.
The Honey Extraction Supervisor will manage the extraction process, ensuring quality and efficiency from hive to drum. You will work closely with beekeeping teams, manage equipment, and supervise a small team in a busy extraction environment. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with knowledge of honey extraction and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily honey extraction operations, including planning, preparation, and quality control
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Operate and maintain extraction equipment, troubleshooting any mechanical issues as needed
- Manage and train staff on best practices and safe extraction procedures
- Maintain records of extraction activities, inventory, and quality assessments
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in honey extraction or food production
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of extraction machinery and safety protocols
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting 30kg’s plus at a time, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and efficiency
- Forklift licence
- Class 1 Drivers licence
