You will be providing superior service and on-going support to all holiday programmes to ensure participants have an enjoyable and safe experience.
The role will involve:
- Assisting members with usage of facilities and equipment to ensure the safety of members
- Supervising groups of children and ensuring their safety at all times
- Creating, facilitating and managing activities, games and outings and joining in as appropriate
- Maximising the kids enjoyment of the aquatic facilities by providing friendly and helpful service, correct and consistent information, and ensuring all safety measures are taken and practiced
- Responding quickly, appropriately and effectively to any emergencies
- Providing an outstanding level of customer service, greeting kids and caregivers with a friendly approach, and continuing to maintain high standards throughout the centre
What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka
You’ll have experience working with children, more specifically in a supervisory role, and have an interest in the sports and events industry. You will be a strong communicator, able to lead and motivate groups of (often excitable) children and will enjoy working in a busy, fast paced role and are flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Demonstrated Leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to positively communicate with, and relate well to, a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and ages
- A current NZQA affiliated First Aid Certificate is preferred
- High School NCEA or Bursary (minimum level of education required)
