Farmhand – Talawanta

Location: Mixed Farming Operation, Talawanta – 55km north of Brewarrina
Start Date: Immediate (Minimum 3-month engagement with possibility for extension based on performance)

About the Role:
Join our dynamic mixed farming operation where no two days are the same. We’re seeking a reliable and proficient Farm Hand & General Laborer who is capable of working unsupervised and under instruction. This casual role, in accordance with the Pastoral Award, offers above-award wages negotiable for experienced candidates and provides a pathway to progress into a permanent Farm Manager role with proven performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machinery Operation: Operate tractors, attachments, and spray rigs in preparation for planting and harvest.
• Field Work: Assist with fencing, livestock and sheep handling, and laboring for irrigation work.
• Maintenance: Perform machinery and plant maintenance as required.
• Flexibility: Work overtime based on seasonal demands for planting and harvesting (note: role does not permit inclement weather).

Essential Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in similar roles with verifiable references.
• Reliability: Ability to work unsupervised under direction, demonstrating trustworthiness and proficiency.
• Driving: Must own a vehicle for personal use; a work vehicle will also be supplied for onsite and during work hours.
• Travel: Paid travel to and from sites if using your own vehicle is required.
• Legal: Right to work in Australia is mandatory. (Backpackers with proven experience are considered for visa 88 days work.)
• Screening: Must possess a valid Criminal History Check, 2 references, and a current CV.
