THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you keen to give farming a go, or maybe you have some farming experience, and you are looking for some casual work.
We are looking for someone to start asap, to cover some leave on farm, and in the long run you may be happy to help on farm from time to time. You’ll get out and do general farm duties like milking, calf-rearing, fencing, spraying weeds, etc…. training provided.
We are a high-performing team, with a good atmosphere, we enjoy a good laugh and know when to get out and get the work done.
We also have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment.
This is a drive-in, drive out role, so you will need reliable transport.
THE FARM
Pinta Dairy Unit is Pāmu’s largest dairy farm, milking 2,100 dairy cows on 877ha through our 80-bail rotary dairy shed, which has been recently upgraded. The farm also uses Halter technology.
This farm has a manager with an open, communicative style – taking care to explain the “why” around decisions so that the team has good context.
It’s conveniently located just out of Taupō, with all the recreational activities the region has to offer at your doorstep; hunting, fishing, cycling and more…..
ABOUT YOU
You are a team player who will bring a positive attitude to our team.
Ideally you will have:
- At least one season of dairy experience (or you’ll be a quick learner – ready to give it a go)
- An exceptional attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
- A good eye for detail and a willingness to learn
- Restricted or full driver’s licence
