Our farm is looking for ONE new team member to start on the first week of June. Please note we can not accommodate couples or groups.
The Farm:
a small buffalo dairy in Seal Rocks NSW producing award winning buffalo mozzarella and other cheeses at the farm. Our farm is registered as a Wildlife Sanctuary, managed organically and running conservational projects.
The Work:
milking buffaloes in the mornings, helping with cheesemaking in the afternoons. Other tasks include monitoring the herd, assisting with breeding and calvings, training young animals, equipment and grounds maintenance, cleaning, fencing, tree plantings, gardening and other general and seasonal farm jobs.
Prefer candidates looking for 6 months or longer term work.
Location: near some of the best NSW surfing/diving/snorkeling beaches of Seal Rocks and surrounded by rich wilderness of Myall Lakes National parks and State Forests.
Accommodation: shared guest cottage available for rent
Skills required:
- strong interest in and ability to to work with large animals
- good level of physical and mental fitness
- excellent work ethics, high attention to detail, patience, can-do attitude, initiative, and good sense of humor
- your own transport
- understanding of food safety principles and high levels of hygiene to work in cheese lab environment.
- food handling experience, construction/mechanical skills, ability to work with basic tools, agricultural or engineering background are desirable
