Chef position for the Summer
The following Chef position is available for fixed term employment to assist with busy summer period. 4-5 months available ideally, from the beginning of Dec through to mid-May approximately. The finish time can be discussed with the successful applicant and depending on visa conditions.
We are a small hotel with bar and restaurant in the beautiful rural mountains of Arthurs Pass, in Canterbury, South Island.
We offer all our team members onsite accommodation, power, internet and great remuneration. This position is full time, and can be long term. We are very happy to consider any one who is currently eligible to work in NZ and happy to work and live in a remote location. We cannot offer sponsorship or transfers for Visas. You must be in the country and available to start from the 1st of December 2025. WHV holders are welcome to apply.
Experience in the kitchen as a cook/chef is essential. We are looking for someone with the ability to work as a crucial part of our small international team. If you have a passion for cooking and want to join an intimate kitchen brigade then we are interested in talking to you. Very good conversational English is necessary. We are an Alpine hotel with restaurant; we serve great quality pub food. Our aim is to serve people the kind of food that feels like home.
This position is 5 days per week on a roster system. This roll is supporting the lead chef and cover for days off. You MUST be able to work alone and also work with leadership direction. We are very happy to utilise previous experience and encourage ideas and menu suggestions to enhance our offering. Ideally CDP level or higher. Do you fit this description?

· Existing eligibility to work in NZ
· Available to start on or before 1st of December
· Very good conversational English
· Experience in the offered position and a positive attitude
· The ability to commit to a 3-month period or longer.
