Position Title:  Cafe Worker

Position Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cafe and Bar Worker to join our vibrant team. As a key member of our cafe, you will provide exceptional service to our customers, ensure smooth daily operations, and contribute to a pleasant dining experience. This position offers a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with an hourly rate ranging from $25 to $30, based on experience and skills.

Key Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and ensure they have an enjoyable experience.
  • Take and process customer orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner.

Food and Beverage Service:

  • Prepare and serve beverages, with attention to quality and presentation.
  • Prepare, cook and serve food menu items, following hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ensure beverage displays are well-stocked and visually appealing.

Cash Handling:

  • Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle transactions accurately.
  • Balance the cash register at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  •  Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the café, including dining areas, kitchens, and toilets.
  •  Assist with regular cleaning duties, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and ensuring proper waste disposal.

Stock Management:

  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and restocking as needed.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.

Minimum Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Be willing to obtain a certified managers certificate at the employers cost.
  • Basic cash handling skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • Commitment to following health and safety regulations, including food safety practices.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Hourly Rate:

  • $25 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
