Café Staff – Ben Lomond

Position Type: Seasonal, Winter 2025

Hours: Flexible hours available with Monday to Friday positions and weekends. Typical work hours are from 7am to 5pm within our operational hours or other times as required.

About Us:

Our Resort offers an exhilarating winter experience amidst the stunning backdrop of the Ben Lomond National Park. With a variety of winter activities and amenities, including a cosy café, we aim to provide guests with unforgettable memories and exceptional service. We are currently seeking experienced Café Staff to join our team for the upcoming winter season.

Job Description:

As a member of our Café Staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. In addition to café duties, you will also be cross-trained to assist in other areas such as ski rental and ticketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, snacks, and light meals in the café.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation in the café area, including maintaining stock levels and cleanliness of equipment.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, taking orders, processing transactions, and addressing guest inquiries.
  • Utilise your cooking skills to prepare specialty items and ensure high-quality food presentation.
  • Assist with ski rental and ticketing duties as needed, including fitting guests with rental equipment and issuing lift tickets.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless guest experience across all departments.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a café or food service environment, with knowledge of espresso machines and food preparation techniques.
  • Cooking experience and the ability to prepare specialty items is highly desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask as needed.
  • RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate and First Aid certificate are advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Due to the limited spaces required for this role, we are seeking staff who live in the area as we don’t provide accommodation for café staff.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
