Cafe bakery assistant – Nerang

Join our busy cafe bakery in Nerang fair shopping centre.

We are seeking a mature person that is reliable and able to work in a fast pace environment

Must be able to start at 6am – 2-3 days a week with some weekend work

Some hospitality experience is required

Coffee experience preferred

English speaking

This could include:

Displaying and Organizing Products:

• Arranging Baked Goods: Displaying freshly baked products in an attractive and organized manner, ensuring the display is neat and appealing.
• Restocking Display: Keeping the bakery display stocked and replenishing items throughout the day as they sell out.

Customer Service:

• Serving Customers: Interacting with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, taking orders for baked goods, and answering any questions about ingredients or product options.
• Packing Orders: Wrapping or packaging baked goods neatly for customers to take home, ensuring products stay fresh.
• Providing Recommendations: Offering suggestions for food pairings (e.g., drinks to go with pastries) and promoting the bakery’s special items.

Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene:

• Cleaning the Bakery Area: Ensuring that the bakery and kitchen area, including ovens, counters, and tools, are kept clean and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
• Washing Dishes and Utensils: Cleaning baking tools, trays, mixing bowls, and utensils after use to maintain a clean workspace.
• Food Safety Practices: Following proper food storage and handling practices to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.

Monitoring Stock and Inventory:

• Managing Supplies: Keeping track of ingredients and supplies such as flour, sugar, butter, and packaging materials, and informing the manager when supplies need to be reordered.
• Ensuring Freshness: Checking the freshness of baked goods and removing any items that are past their prime to maintain quality.
