Our fast, safe, comfortable Vista cruising catamarans provide the best cruising experience in Abel Tasman National Park. The customer service, equipment, safety, and training systems aboard allow you to grow into the role irrespective of previous experience.
You must be customer focused with the ability to communicate across a range of backgrounds, ages, interests and abilities. You will be available to work weekends and public holidays.
Added Opportunity: Start your maritime career with our Skippers providing training. We can assist you in getting valuable sea time and the experience to progress with confidence to Maritime New Zealand’s Skipper Restricted Limits qualification.
Your Job will include:
- Passenger check-in, ticketing, meet and greet at Kaiteriteri and in Abel Tasman National Park.
- Customer/food service and stock management on board the Vista Cruise.
- Providing comprehensive information for passengers.
- Assistance with Park information and freight transfers.
- Daily vessel maintenance and cleaning.
- Operating dinghies for passenger transfers and refuelling of vessels.
- Driving tractors to launch and retrieve dinghies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Good computer skills.
- Restricted driver’s license.
- Valid first aid certificate.
- NZ Residency or a valid NZ work visa.
- Coast Guard Day Skippers Qualification or higher. This qualification can be obtained with a 16-hour online course. We will assist you with this if you are offered the job.

The position is full time, for a fixed term starting late August 2025 and running to either the end of March or end of April 2026 depending on visitor demand.
