Aquaculture Farm Workers – Northland

We are looking for 6 seasonal Farm Workers who can start in June and commit to a minimum of 3 months work on our Oyster Farms in Northland.

Whangaroa is located in the beautiful Bay of Islands and is a stunning place to live and explore. We are offering 6 go getters, who are hardworking, physically fit and keen to learn the chance to work in Northland, spending most of your day out on the Whangaroa Harbour taking care of and harvesting pacific coast oysters.

Our Opportunity:

If you’d rather be working in the fresh air than sitting in an office, aquaculture could be a good place to get a job. Like other types of farming, the field requires a lot of practical know-how, and what better place to get it, than working for a premium oyster farm operation.

No day is the same. You might find yourself checking stock on farms, animal husbandry and harvesting duties, or assembling oyster baskets and undertaking general farm, yard or shed duties.

Critical to these jobs are ensuring the highest standard of food safety and quality and following all health & safety processes and practices, working as an effective and reliable member of the team. These are physical roles that require focus and commitment at all times.

This is a team-based operations, so you need to enjoy working with others, be able to take instructions and follow process, whilst supporting your colleagues and ensuring that every day, you are meeting targets, working to a high level of productivity and keeping each other safe.

Due to the nature of the business and changing tides and weather conditions you need to be adaptable and flexible when it comes to days and hours of work.

Training is provided.

What You Need: You need to be process orientated, organised, and committed to ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are applied to all tasks.

You may be living in Northland already or keen to enjoy the experience of living Northland and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with a close-knit team. With a genuine interest in learning about aquaculture and developing your farming skills, this is a great opportunity to work with a business committed to operational excellence, health and safety and producing premium products. If you are reliable, hardworking, and physically fit, and like being on the water, learning new skills and working in a team we would like to hear from you.

  • able to pass a pre-employment criminal, medical and drug and alcohol testing
