Holiday Park Couple – Franz Josef

We are looking for a dynamic couple to join us at our holiday park for our up-and-coming peak session. The successful applicants will be adaptable to various roles within the park.

This position is a live in, full-time fixed term 5 – 6 months contract for 2 people starting approx. end September – Mid October. This position could lead to permanent full-time role after our busy season. You will be rostered shift work, including weekends, public and school holidays. Some instances you will be required to be sole charge of the holiday park. Accommodation to be discussed or you can live in your own vehicle/caravan.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Making reservations and communicating with guests in person and via phone and email
  • Stripping and making beds, cleaning and maintenance of park buildings such as cabins, amenities and laundries
  • Cleaning rooms and camp amenities, maintenance of park equipment such as BBQs and playgrounds
  • Landscaping duties, i.e. lawn mowing, weed eating/spraying and maintaining gardens, water blasting.
  • Disposal of waste and management of recycling.
  • General handyman work, incl. basic plumbing, painting.
  • Night walks and after-hours check-ins when (sole charge duties)
  • Identifying, reporting and rectifying WHS issues.
  • Daily banking reconciliation (sole charge duties).

Skills & Experience (One or both of those applying will need experience in the below)

  • Proven outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in handyman work, with a broad maintenance skill-set.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritise and manage projects and tasks.
  • Attention to detail, especially in the area of cleaning.
  • Experience in maintaining lawns and gardens.
  • Previous experience in vehicle and machinery operation
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and/or autonomously.
  • Computer literacy, preferably with experience using a hotel reservation system (we use Newbook).
  • Knowledge of and experience with current WHS legislation.
  • Experience and proven skills in the reconciliation of banking.

The successful applicants for both positions will need to take pride in their work and personal presentation, have a valid NZ manual drivers licence, current first-aid certificate (or be open to obtaining one). On-site training will be provided.
