We’re seeking four dedicated Calf Rearers to join us for the upcoming calving season across our Tūaropaki dairy sites. Over the season, from mid-July to early December, you’ll help rear approximately 1,400 calves. In this role, you’ll be hands-on in the daily care and development of our calves, with a strong focus on animal health, nutrition, and overall welfare. As part of a supportive team, you’ll contribute to raising healthy, productive calves that are vital to the future of our farming operation. This opportunity is perfect for someone with previous calf rearing experience, or for those with a background in the dairy industry who are keen to develop their calf rearing skills during a busy and rewarding calving season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform calf feeding efficiently and with care.
- Ensure calves receive proper nutrition—including colostrum, milk (or milk replacer), and starter feed, at the right times and in correct amounts.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the animal health programme and welfare standards. *Actively support and adhere to the Health & Safety programme.
- Follow instructions accurately and reliably.
